Bio Versatile artist, John Charles, has designed film, animation and painted Cher's portrait for Sonny and Cher. Hollywood has brought orders for logos, record cover painting and a comic strip. His pen and ink prints were a hit all over California winning various ribbons and numerous sales and paintings have sold to collectors all over the United States. His degree in Fine Art at East Tennessee State University was the springboard for him to win a scholarship from the Art Students League of New York City and Woodstock. Further studies include work with acclaimed artists Andrew Wyeth, John Sanden, Bob Gerbracht and other masters. Recent awards include First Place, Best in Show and Purchase Award for his impressionistic oil, Picking Flowers, now in the permanent collection of the Tennessee Valley Authority in Knoxville, Tennessee. Today he is incorporating his interest in portraiture, landscape and abstract work with a mysterious yet down-to-earth feeling.
