Bio
Versatile artist, John
Charles, has designed film, animation and painted Cher's portrait for
Sonny and Cher. Hollywood has brought orders for logos, record cover
painting and a comic strip. His pen and ink prints were a hit all
over California winning various ribbons and numerous sales and paintings
have sold to collectors all over the United States.
His degree in Fine
Art at East Tennessee State University was the springboard for him to
win a scholarship from the Art Students League of New York City and Woodstock.
Further studies include work with acclaimed artists Andrew Wyeth, John
Sanden, Bob Gerbracht and other masters.
Recent awards include
First Place, Best in Show and Purchase Award for his impressionistic oil,
Picking Flowers, now in the permanent collection of the Tennessee Valley
Authority in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Today he is incorporating
his interest in portraiture, landscape and abstract work with a mysterious
yet down-to-earth feeling. A viewer summed it up perfectly with,
"I could just melt into your painting!"
He accepts commissions
and invites all to share his passionate journey.
